Metro SPLISE

The Metro SPLISE (Strategic Planning for Low Incidence Services in Education) Project, is a state-initiated and federally funded Special Education program serving educators and caregivers of students with low incidence disabilities.

The Low Incidence disability areas served include; DeafBlindness (DB), Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH), Blind/Visually Impaired (BVI), Physical Impairment (PI), Other Health Disability (OHD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
The Metro SPLISE Project serves the Twin Cities and surrounding metro communities, also designated as Region 11. This regional project is one of eight Minnesota Low Incidence Projects providing technical assistance and training throughout the state of Minnesota.
The Project offers training and networking opportunities for teachers, paraprofessionals and families. Student programs offer assistance with the development of independent living skills and promotion of social interaction between peers. The Judy Wolff Library offers extensive resources.
Project activities support and augment school district efforts for students in special education. All 48 school districts in Region 11 participate in the Metro SPLISE activities, projects and disability Networks.
